Set the date! Walmart Neighborhood Market, located at 4715 Wesley Street, announced via their Facebook page that they will start Grand Opening festivities on September 30th, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The store will include a Murphy USA fuel center, a drive-through pharmacy, a delicatessen, and a bakery.
The new store was built on the site of the former Britain Chevrolet dealership. Jerry Grady, who owned Grady Chevrolet, still maintained ownership of the property prior to Walmart’s acquisition of the property.
The goal of the approximately 43,000 square-foot store is to provide a shopping option to the northern side of the city, including areas such as Washington Heights, Peniel, and Reavilon that are 5 miles or more from the existing Walmart, at 7401 Interstate 30, as well as to stay competitive with other outlets such as Save-A-Lot, Migalito’s Supermercado, and Super 1 Foods (which is only 2 parcels south of the new store).
