An estimated 400 bicyclist came from The Ft. Worth-Dallas area, Houston, Austin, Oklahoma and New Mexico to take the Cotton Patch Challenge Tour.  This is a scenic tour over US and State Highways in Hunt and Fannin Counties. There are five routes.  The shortest is 21 miles from Greenville to Kingston,  then turning east to the Tidwell Community and returning to Greenville on Highway 34. Most families take this tour.  The longest goes to Fannin County before returning to Greenville.

The challenge is a tour of Hunt County and not a race.  It gives riders a chance to see different scenery on courses nearby their communities.  The tour started at the Hunt County Courthouse Square on Johnson Street and will end at the square on Stonewall Street.

The Cotton Patch Challenge is sponsored by the City of Greenville, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, Innovation First, Hunt Regional Healthcare, Ben E. Keith Distribution, Landon Winery, L3, American National Bank and many others.

Many volunteers make the Cotton Patch Challenge an enjoyable event every year during the Rally Round Greenville Festival.
