Voters passed a 72 million dollar bond a year ago last May authorizing renovations and a new campus for the Greenville Independent School District.  Improvements include a new Bowie Elementary School, renovations, security and technology additions to all schools in the district, and a new Career and Technical addition being constructed at the high school.

The Greenville District encompasses all of the educational facilities within the City of Greenville and adjoining facilities within a five to seven mile radius of the city.  The district is large enough to offer vibrant programs yet is small enough to have a balanced teacher/student relationship.  Spreading the red cultivates a personal interest in each and every student by teachers and administrative staff.

Greenville emphasizes teaching the basics from a campus at L. P. Waters that addresses the needs of three and four year olds, to five elementary schools spread throughout the city.  They are Bowie, Carver, Crockett, Lamar and Travis.  There is a separate sixth grade center and the Greenville Middle School concentrates on the seventh and eighth grade populations.  Greenville High School excels with over 50 dual-credit classes, a world-renowned robotics team. career and technology certifications and STEM course offerings.

The Houston Education Center offers a self-paced, alternative learning environment for students.  Greenville education is running in front of the pack, dynamic, and is leading the educational wave into the future. There are some super talented people doing amazing things for our city and the district.
