Born November 26, 1924 in Dallas, Libby was the daughter of Rev. T.H. Browning and Loyette Hall. As the daughter of a Methodist pastor she delighted of living in Kaufman, Van Alstyne, Byers, Mt. Vernon, Hutchins, Garland, Rockwall, and Greenville where she met the love of her life JB McNatt. They married July 10, 1943 in Camp Wallace, TX and began a life together during WWII when JB joined the Army Air Corp. His service took them to Colorado, North Dakota, New Mexico, and Utah.
Libby graduated from Greenville High School in 1942. She then entered East Texas Commerce for two years. After WWII she worked for Temco in Greenville for 10 years before going back to school at East Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music. She was a beloved music teacher in Greenville for more than 20 years.
One of her greatest loves was music and she enjoyed playing the organ for Wesley United Methodist Church. In addition to music, Libby loved cooking, visiting the ranch to see the new baby calves, traveling to all 50 states and many other countries around the world. She also loved collecting crystal, playing games, and most of all spending time with family and friends. The love between her and her family could not be put into words.
Libby is survived by her husband of 72 years, JB McNatt; sons Randy McNatt and wife Gabriela of Pottsboro, Bruce McNatt of Wagner and Tipper McNatt of Wagner; her grandchildren Tricia McNatt of Los Angeles, CA, Angie Krackenberger and husband Patrick of Keller, Jason McNatt of Dallas, Morgan McNatt of Frisco and Chase Johnson of Lone Oak. She is also survived by her two great grandchildren, Ashton and Jack Krackenberger. She was preceded in death by brothers, Hal and Bernard and a sister, Maxine.
Pallbearers are Bill Morgan, Ardis Drake, R.L. Jacobs, Kelley Hardin, Joe Winniford, Chase Johnson, Jason McNatt, and Patrick Krackenberger. Honorary pallbearers are Louis Clarke and members of the Alpha Class.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, 5100 I-30 Frontage Rd.; (903) 455-4110. A ‘Celebration of Life’ service will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church of Greenville on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Merit Cemetery.
