Luanne Dickens has given Crystal and Ellisha of Alliance Bank a dozen roses to participate in Friends and Neighbor Day.

Luanne Dickens, owner of Greenville Floral and Gifts, expects to pass out 1,000 roses in celebration of Friends and Neighbor Day.  The day of recognition is sponsored by Florist Trans-world Delivery (FTD) and their associates.  FTD started the tradition 21-years ago and Greenville Floral and Gifts has participated for the last ten years.

The gifts give people a chance to meet their neighbors and friends.  Participants receive a dozen red roses.  They are then instructed to keep one rose and pass out the remaining eleven roses.  Luanne said the day fell on the anniversary of September 11th last year and it made a lot of people smile on a day of sad remembrance.
