Mosquitoes infected with the West Nile Virus have been trapped near the Ridgecrest Ditch.

The City of Greenville will begin spraying for mosquitoes once again after indications of West Nile Virus was found in traps along Ridgecrest Drive. The first round is scheduled to begin in a few hours. Spraying will resume tomorrow night in an area near the hospital bordered by Wellington, Templton, Sayle and Ridgecrest Streets.

While the spray is not harmful to humans, people must not stay in the area being sprayed but remain indoors during the time.  Fogging machine operators will shut down their equipment should they notice people outside in the area.  People are urged to use repellent when outside during the hours near dusk or dawn. Please take precautions when fogging equipment is being operated.
