The furniture has been moved to the meeting room so that Mike Lyday Construction Company can finish installing the new flooring in the terminal building.
Mark McFarland, ground operations technician, finishes an invoice for aircraft fuel at the temporary console. He tells me that “the new flooring is very easy to slide across without leaving my chair”.
The terminal building was constructed in 1996 with a grant from Texas Department of Transportation under the guidance of Mayor Sue Ann Harding. Indoor/outdoor carpeting has been removed and a deluxe vinyl plank Southern Expressions flooring is the choice of the Greenville Airport board. One pilot that walked in exclaimed “that it looks like the floor in my old barn”. The new vinyl flooring should last for the next twenty years!
