George Paul Stebens Jr., 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in Greenville. Graveside services celebrating George’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Chaplain Samuel Glenn officiating.
George was born on February 29, 1920 in Lakin, Kansas. He is the son of the late George Stebens Sr. and Myrtle Craig Stebens. He was raised and educated in Lakin, Kansas. He proudly served his country, serving in World War II where he received a Purple Heart for his service. He moved to Dallas, Texas in the 1950’s and then came to Quinlan in 1970. George married Della Fly on August 18, 1972 and they made their home in Quinlan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. He owned Casa Linda Garage for 40 years and Little Creek Acres Water System for 35 Years. He retired in 2000. He enjoyed working so much that it could be considered a hobby. He loved to play with the Grandkids, garden and to can pickles.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife Della of Quinlan; son Paul Stebens and wife Debbie of Denton; daughter Debbie Screws and husband Johnny of Mesquite; grandkids Kimberlie, George Paul, Jimmy Don, Cheryl; great-grandkids Megan, Taryn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
